Schönbrunn: Tierpark und Schloss / Schönbrunn: Zoo and Castle
Ähnliche Abzocke wie der Prunksaal der Nationalbibliothek, allerdings mit mehr Räumen (und mit 18 Euro Eintritt auch etwas teurer). Wer sich wie die Richterin gerne vom Rokoko-Kitsch erschlagen lässt, kommt in dem Schlösschen voll auf seine Kosten. Besonders erwähnenswert ist an dieser Stelle der Blick auf Kaiser Franzens Klo, das er sich anno 1899 "nach englischer Art" einbauen liess, welches auf mich jedoch den Eindruck eines Auslaufmodells machte. Während Kollege Franz sein adliges Hinterteil nämlich nach wie vor auf einem Plumpsklo platzierte, hatte man andernorts (so auch in Teilen Englands) zur selben Zeit nämlich schon lange die Kanalisation erfunden und verrichtete sein Geschäft bereits in eine der heute gebräuchlichen Porzellanschüsseln mit Wasserspülung.
Same rip-off as with the Splendor Hall of the National Library, only with more rooms and a higher admission fee (18 euros). But if you share the Richterin's preferences and love being overwhelmed by rococo kitsch you will get your money's worth. Especially worthy of mention is the "English system" toilet of Emperor Franz Joseph that he had himself installed in 1899. However, to me this imperial loo seemed to be a bit of a phase-out model as emperor Franz still rested his aristocratic bottom on a pit toilet when elsewhere they had long ago invented sewerage systems and were doing their business on a modern flush toilet.
