Dritte Station: Hofjagd- und Rüstkammer / Third Station: Collection of Arms and Armour
In der Hofjagd- und Rüstkammer kann man sich die Rüstungen und Prunkwaffen von fast allen westeuropäischen Fürsten vom 15. bis ins frühe 20. Jahrhundert ansehen. Viele davon waren gar nicht fürs Schlachtfeld, sondern für repräsentative Zwecke (oder etwas direkter ausgedrückt zur Demonstration des eigenen Wohlstands) gedacht. Auch Kostümrüstungen für Kinder und Erwachsene sind darunter.
The Collection of Arms and Armour shows the suits of armours and ornamental weapons of nearly all western European princes from the 15th to the early 20th century. Many of these pieces were not made for battle but for representative purposes (i. e. for the demonstration of wealth), including costume suits of armour for children and adults.
